 Turning Point Services Respite Care

Turning Point manages one Respite House in Boone, NC:  Boone Respite House

Community respite is a service that provides periodic relief for a family or family substitute on a temporary basis.  This service enables the primary caregiver to meet or participate in planned or emergency events, and to have planned time for him/herself and/or family members. Respite may include in and out-of-home services, and may include overnight services. The primary caregiver is the person principally responsible for the care and supervision of the individual and must maintain his/her primary residence at the same address as the individual.

While the Boone Respite House generally provides overnight care to consumers using the facility, respite services may be provided for periods of less than 24 hours on a day or evening basis.  The Boone Respite House generally operates as needed to meet consumer needs, and can be open 24 hours up to 7 days weekly.  No fees are charged to consumers for Medicaid reimbursable services.  In the event that an individual consumer has a Medicaid deductible, the consumer and/or their parent/guardian/other responsible adult must pay the deductible.

We work hard to design and equip this house to promote the enjoyment and comfort of consumers who use the service.
